Our recent escape to Cabo San Lucas was a feast for the senses, and our stay at Hacienda Encantada added a layer of magic to our adventure. Perched majestically on a rugged point overlooking the glittering Sea of Cortez, this resort seamlessly blends the vibrant heritage of Mexico with its stunning natural surroundings. Here’s a heartwarming recap of our stay:

🏨 The Resort: Hacienda Encantada 🏨

The moment we stepped into Hacienda Encantada, we were enveloped by its old-world charm. The resort is thoughtfully divided into three sections, each with its own unique allure. Our home for the week was the main resort section, and we were overjoyed to be upgraded to a Presidential suite—a testament to the resort’s warm hospitality. Our corner suite was a spacious sanctuary, featuring:

- A bedroom with two double beds, a kitchenette, and a bathroom—perfect for a cozy retreat.

- A living room with a full kitchen and an additional bathroom, exuding a welcoming vibe.

- A master bedroom with a luxurious king bed and an en-suite bathroom—a haven of relaxation.

- Multiple balconies that opened up to panoramic ocean views, where the horizon seemed to dance with the waves.

The decor was a tribute to traditional Mexican artistry, creating a space that felt both luxurious and homey.

🌊 The Location 🌊

Though Hacienda Encantada lacks a swimmable beach, its dramatic rocky coastline and sweeping views of the iconic arch were spellbinding. Nestled high on a cliff, the resort offers vistas that are nothing short of cinematic. Watching cruise ships glide into port against the backdrop of the sea was a mesmerizing spectacle!

🚶‍♂️ Getting Around 🚶‍♂️

Navigating the resort’s hilly terrain was part of the adventure. Golf carts were our trusty steeds, always ready to whisk us away to our next destination. We often found a cart waiting right outside our room, making it easy to explore. For those who prefer to walk, the uphill paths offered a good workout and stunning views as a reward.

🍽️ Dining 🍽️

While Hacienda Encantada isn’t an all-inclusive resort, we opted for the meal plan, which promised unlimited culinary delights. The plan included access to the resort’s nine diverse restaurants, as well as dining options at the sister property, Marina Fiesta, and a few eateries in the Golden Zone. The food was flavorful, but the service, unfortunately, left much to be desired. Each meal required us to request and sign a check, even with the meal plan, which felt cumbersome and detracted from the dining experience.

- Spacious Accommodation: Our Presidential suite was a luxurious haven, offering comfort and ample space for relaxation.

- Morning Serenity: Early mornings at the resort were pure magic. With the world still asleep, we had the cliffs to ourselves, where we could meditate and soak in the tranquil beauty of the sea.

- Service: The service at the restaurants and bars could use significant improvement to match the resort’s grandeur.

- Meal Plan Experience: The requirement to sign checks despite having a meal plan felt cumbersome and detracted from the overall experience.

Despite these minor hiccups, Hacienda Encantada’s beauty and location made our stay an unforgettable experience. The service issues seemed more a reflection of local norms than the resort’s ethos.
